what to expect

THE FOUR SEASONS

The resort is in the exclusive Peninsula Papagayo community. Stretching into the Pacific Ocean from protected Culebra Bay, Peninsula Papagayo is 1,400 acres of lush landscape in the Guanacaste province on Costa Rica’s north Pacific Coast, bordering Nicaragua. Translated to “Rich Coast” in English, this eco-rich land is home to some of the world’s most spectacular landscapes, offering a rare microcosm of Costa Rica, including eleven miles of dramatic coastline, eight miles of majestic bluff edges, seven sandy beaches, and one of the few tropical dry forests on the planet.

Luxurious and serene, The Four Seasons Peninsula Papagayo offers unparalleled access to nature, adventure and relaxation. Central America’s exclusive Forbes Travel Guide Five-Star resort for six consecutive years, it is the utmost location for adventure travelers, wellness seekers, culinary explorers, and cultural globetrotters.

The Four seasons

The Four Seasons uses electricity at 110-120 volts with United States and Canadian sockets. If you plan on using electrical appliances that operate on a different voltage, a converter is required. Appliances that have different plugs will need an adapter.

LANGUAGE

Most people here speak Spanish but English is widely spoken as well.

CURRENCY

The currency in Costa Rica is the Costa Rican Colón, however US dollars are widely accepted. Most shops and restaurants in the Papagayo Peninsula accept debit and credit cards, including Visa, MasterCard and American Express. However, there are some smaller shops and restaurants that do not accept any cards, so it is a good idea to have some colón or US dollars with you while shopping or eating out. You will find a currency exchange office at Liberia International Airport.
