Ranked among the “Top 100 Courses Outside the United States” by Golf Digest, our 18-hole, par-72, Arnold Palmer-designed course pairs dramatic elevation changes with stunning views of Bahía de Culebra.  Play among the chatter of monkeys from the surrounding, emerald-green forests.

Tenorio National Park hike

Located in the northern lowlands of the Guanacaste province of Costa Rica, Tenorio Volcano National Park is known for Tenorio Volcano, hiking trails, wildlife, and most notably, Rio Celeste Waterfall.

Capacity: 60 guests

What to expect: This is a medium hike and you will need the ability to climb up/down incline and stairs.

What to bring: lightweight bag, nothing too heavy, hiking boots or tennis shoes, we recommend shoes with traction.  Raincoat or poncho, bug spray, comfortable pants or shorts.

TUBING

Tube down a sparkling turquoise river as you descend through miles of rainforest. At the end, you will reach a collection of natural pools, where you can swing from a rope and plunge into the cool blue water.

Capacity: 60 guests 

What to bring: waterproof small bag or phone bag, bathing suit or water clothes, water shoes/sandals, towel & a change of clothes for the ride home.

BOTAnical experience

Between the impressive cacao plantation and the many medicinal plants grown on-site, the botanical experience will lead guests to smell, touch, feel and connect with Costa Rican’s roots and ancestral curing techniques, along with learning about the chocolate making process – from seed to bar. A true sensorial journey. Don Gerardo, the owner of this local farm and business, is also one character to meet!

Capacity: 20 guests

What to bring: Comfortable shoes, raincoat or poncho, bug spray, and comfortable pants or shorts.

ARCHERY

Embrace the thrill of archery in a centuries-old forest at Peninsula Papagayo. Beginners can master the basics, while more advanced participants can hone their skills with expert guidance. After the instruction, there will be some friendly competition designed to nurture both competitive and teamwork skills. A perfect experience for team bonding!

Duration: 1.5 Hours

Max capacity per tour: 10 guests

Max capacity per day: 30 guests (3 tours per day)

AERIAL ADVENTURE

A unique collection of 30 epic aerial trails designed by adventure park legend Victor Gallo create a not-to-be-missed voyage through one of the last vestiges of old-growth tropical dry forest in the Americas. The two-hour guided exploration traverses seven ziplines, a majestic weeping fig tree, and 21 adventure-filled high-rope obstacles replete with rope bridges, swinging logs, cargo nets and more.

Zipline: Seven canopy cables suspended high among the treetops, a climbing ladder, and two thrilling Tibetan bridges

Challenge Course: Twenty-one high ropes obstacles replete with rope bridges, swinging logs, cargo nets, and more.

Duration: 2.5 hours

Weight Limit: 250lbs

OFF-ROADING ATV TOUR

A heart-pounding off-road adventure around the Palmares estuary in a UTV – and be prepared to get dirty! Stop for a quick nature walk before heading over to the northern peninsula for astounding ocean views, exclusive to adventures with Peninsula Explorers. From there visit Playa Zapotillal to hang out on a secluded beach where there is rarely another soul.

Duration: 3 Hours

Max Capacity: Up to 5 guests per vehicle

Max capacity per tour: 10 guests (2 vehicles)

What to bring: Tennis shoes, bathing suit, towel and clothes you don’t mind getting dirty.

Important weather info: This activity is subject to weather conditions and is inclined to cancel in case of rain as trails become challenging.

Wilderness Hike

You’ll never know what you’ll encounter in the wilderness of Palmares, where ecosystems converge. This large stretch of land is largely untouched, save for a few hidden trails known only to your guide. Tucked away from civilization, Palmares provides shelter for a dazzling array of wildlife. If you’re lucky (and very quiet), you might even spot a big cat. The sensation of being in a world apart when in the Palmares area, while just a short drive from Peninsula Papagayo.

Private guides, water, coconut water, fruits.

Duration: 2.5 hours

Max Capacity: 40 Guests

What to bring: T-shirt, long pants, hiking shoes, hat, sunglasses, water, bug spray.
